Deacon

Appointed Men of God

The purpose of the deacon is to allow the elders to focus on prayer, studying God's Word, and pastoral care. In general the deacons function as servants, ministering through the body in various ways such as: tending  to benevolence, count tithes and offerings, church upkeep, service, etc...

A deacon is a rewarding and honorable calling  to the church.

"Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, it is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report full of Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over business."

Acts 6:2-3
